Deloitte and Legora form legal AI partnership

Sep 10, 2025

UKHotViews Deloitte Legal UK and Stockholm-HQ’d Legora, a provider of a collaborative AI platform for lawyers, are joining forces with the aim of driving the next wave of legal transformation. The partnering arrangement will offer support for legal clients developing and implementing their AI strategies and tools from pilot to adoption at scale. Deloitte Legal, which has already adopted Legora in its own business, plans to develop pre-built solutions and custom workflows for specific use-cases on the platform. The Swedish platform provider, which opened its London office at the start of this year, has been making impressive progress since inception two years ago. In May, an investment round led by ICONIQ and General Catalyst attracted Series B funding of $80m valuing the company at $675m. Operating predominantly out of New York, London, and Stockholm, Legora now employs more than 100 personnel. Lawyers across 250 firms and legal teams in 20 markets currently making daily use of the platform, customers for which include Bird & Bird, Mischon de Reya and Taylor Wessing. Deloitte and Legora are, however, far from alone in targeting AI-led opportunities in the UK legal sector. The legal tech space is becoming increasingly crowded as a burgeoning number of AI-centric startups flood into the market. In the last few months, successful funding rounds have been completed by Edinburgh-based contract and policy review automation specialist Wordsmith AI , deadline and obligation management focused Atria AI and Luminance , which has developed its own legal Large Language Model. Beyond these there are numerous other both new and more established players seeking to capitalise on the disruptive potential of AI on the practice of law. These include the global legal solutions firm LexisNexis, which has also developed its own AI based offering. Our recent UK AI startups to watch in 2025 report flagged the significant level of investment now flowing into legal tech arena. This is a hot market and one we will be exploring in greater depth later this year.
