by Gus Iversen , Editor in Chief | August 21, 2025 Rating saved Trinity Health System has opened a new acute-care hospital in St. Clairsville, Ohio, expanding access to emergency and inpatient services in a region where options have grown increasingly limited. The St. Clairsville Neighborhood Hospital, a 20,000-square-foot facility, began operations on Aug. 18. The two-story site includes 10 emergency treatment rooms—two of which are equipped for trauma—and three fast-track rooms for lower-acuity cases. Six inpatient rooms are available, including one intensive care unit, alongside two operating rooms for surgical care. The hospital will also offer laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, and accommodations for patients with specific needs, including bariatric and behavioral health support within the emergency department. Ad Statistics Keep biomedical devices ready to go, so care teams can be ready to care for patients. GE HealthCare’s ReadySee™ helps overcome frustrations due to lack of network and device visibility, manual troubleshooting, and downtime. “For many in the St. Clairsville area, access to timely emergency services has been a challenge, often requiring travel across the Ohio River,” said Dwayne Richardson, president of Twin City Medical Center and regional operations. “By establishing this facility along National Road, we are working to bridge that gap—bringing high-quality, life-saving care close to home.” Laurie Labishak, market director for Trinity Health System, noted that the need for additional care access has increased following the closure of East Ohio Regional Hospital in nearby Martins Ferry. “While nearby hospitals in Wheeling and Barnesville continue to provide vital support, the addition of this new facility will expand capacity and provide local residents with another trusted place to turn in times of need,” she said. The new location also includes a helipad for emergency air transport and features telehealth robotics to extend clinical reach across the facility. Trinity Health System is part of CommonSpirit Health, based in Chicago, which has emphasized patient-centered infrastructure and expanding access in underserved areas.
