El 93,3% de los españoles apoyan el nuevo seguro para los usuarios de bicicletas eléctricas y patinetes

El 93,3% de los ciudadanos se muestra a favor de que los usuarios de bicicletas eléctricas y patinetes tengan obligación de contratar un seguro de responsabilidad civil, según los datos del último Foro de Movilidad de Alphabet, compañía de renting y movilidad del grupo BMW. La reciente aprobación en las Cortes de la Ley de Seguros de Automóviles, que introduce el concepto de vehículo personal ligero, establece la obligatoriedad de contratar un seguro de responsabilidad civil para patinetes eléctricos y otros vehículos de movilidad personal (VMP) a partir del 2 de enero de 2026. Este seguro cubrirá los daños a terceros, defensa jurídica y asistencia sanitaria. Dentro del estudio, el 72,1% de los ciudadanos defienden esta medida de manera general, un 18,8% únicamente si circulan por ciudades y vías o solo para mayores de edad, en un 2,4%. Por su parte, apenas un 6,7% de los encuestados rechaza esta medida. Las bicicletas eléctricas y los patinetes "El amplio respaldo detectado por el Foro de Movilidad pone de manifiesto que la ciudadanía reclama más seguridad, regulación y adaptación de las ciudades a las nuevas formas de movilidad. La proliferación de VMP en los últimos años, unida a la falta de infraestructuras adecuadas, ha intensificado este debate", defiende la compañía. Para el Foro de Movilidad, el apoyo es unánime en casi todos los grupos de edad: desde los más jóvenes (18 a 24 años), donde más del 91% defiende el seguro obligatorio, hasta los mayores (55 a 65 años), que son los más favorables con un 96% de respaldo. En los tramos intermedios de edad (25 a 54 años) el consenso se mantiene en torno al 92-93%. La misma tendencia se observa en el análisis por género, donde se repite la unanimidad: el 93,6% de las mujeres y el 92,9% de los hombres coinciden en la conveniencia de esta regulación. Respaldo Por territorios, el consenso ciudadano se repite en todas las capitales de provincia españolas. Madrid alcanza un 94% de apoyo, mientras que Barcelona roza el 93,5%. En el sur, ciudades como Sevilla y Valencia destacan con casi un 95% de respaldo a esta medida, situándose entre las más favorables, según los datos de Alphabet. También en el norte, áreas como Bilbao o La Coruña registran cifras en torno al 93-94%, mientras que en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y Oviedo el apoyo se mantiene cerca del 93%. Incluso en los territorios menos entusiastas, como Toledo o Pamplona , el porcentaje de ciudadanos favorables supera el 90%, evidenciando que la medida cuenta con un consenso prácticamente unánime en toda España.
